INVENTORY FORECASTING AND AUTOMATED ORDERING

Just-In-Time Inventory (JIT) Control

  • 'push' and 'pull' branch transfers, manually or suggested by computer based on forecasting from past branch sales demand (ERP)
  • suggested purchase orders based on forecasting from past sales demand (ERP)
  • suggested purchases may be generated based on the following parameters lead time
    1. safety stocks
    2. start date
    3. order point
    4. seasonality
    5. round to vendor package quantity
    6. EOQ
    7. status and activity code
    8. weekly or monthly product sales history (up to 3 yrs. for seasonal)
    9. inflation
    10. vendor X product fill performance
    11. business cycle growth/shrinkage factor
    12. order days (cycle)
    13. last order
    14. valid delivery days (truck routing)
    15. calculated or manual sales demand
    16. order point percentage
  • Suggested purchases, branch transfers, and sales orders may be generated according to the user's choice of the following algorithms: weighted average, linear regression, and exponential smoothing. The use of these can significantly lower inventory levels, decrease spoliage and obsolescence, increase turns, and lower data entry requirements, thereby generally improving profits. Multiple vendor P.O.s may be generated in one pass using user-specified criteria.

Automated Product Retrievals

Purveyor allows the generation and use of branch transfers by an automated calculation procedure for the purpose of estimating surplus inventory in outlying branches and bringing them to a central
branch. This is done similarly to a below order point report, but uses excess stock to generate the report. One may then use the report manually, or put it into the branch transfer program using the 'Report' method of automatically generating a transfer. Of course, the transfer may then be edited once it has come into the branch transfer program, which will double check stock at that point and make the appropriate commitments.
