FREIGHT & STORAGE SYSTEM

The Freight & Storage system allows the creation of purchase orders for freight and storage payment. It allows multiple purchase orders on a single freight/storage P.O. and allows either and/or both freight and storage to be assessed on a single freight/storage P.O. A P.O. can appear on several freight/storage P.O.s, allowing for circumstances here a product is shipped from location to another, stored until pickup, then shipped from the storage location to your plant.

Accounts Payable

  • The freight/storage P.O., once posted as arrived, automatically generates an accounts payable record
  • the vendor of the freight & storage exists as a vendor just like any other

Purchasing/Receiving
  • Freight/storage memos may be placed either after P.O. placement or after receiving, and must be confirmed at receiving

Costing
  • costs of freight and storage are added into product cost, allowing pricing to be based on the product cost plus freight/storage, not just the deflated cost of a product coming from a vendor who does not pay freight or deliver.
  • these costs are broken out on each P.O. and allocated to each product by gross weight
